My first plan of the week. As seen on my main calendar (under my research tab) I have my first interview on Friday. I like to break my plans down by block instead of time, but since I so many blocks free now, it will set tasks for each block. (NOTE: this will be updated with another picture at the end of the week, with what I had planned each day- AKA what I accomplished each day)

Right now, as I am doing research for my Caps project, I am creating a bibliography with my eyes half shut. I am so tired. Can I take a break? No. Especially not with the other three pieces of homework I have. I know I should exercise, but how can I with all the homework. Then part of me says, but my health is more important. Then another part of me says I can't just not do my homework. Also, how about sleep. I am already exhausted and I know I need more sleep, so how can I fit it in there too? If I exercise and go to sleep early, I don't have my homework done. If I do exercise and do my homework, I will be up way too late. I know this is the far too common story of a student. It is not fair that we don't have time to take care of ourselves. More like we have to make a choice between taking care of our health or getting these tasks done. Health should just be part of life and not a luxury if you have time for it. I am tempted to end this post with "what can you do" and move on with the rest of my homework. I'm gonna resist and instead say take care of yourself. Whatever that means for you. PLEASE CLICK ON THE IMAGE ABOVE FOR LINK!
Right now, as I am working on my annotated bibliography, (will be posted by Friday) I am getting so incredibly frustrated. I went to see Michael Moss, author of Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us, November of my junior year. He did research for 4 years about the behind the scenes of the food industry and it is so horrible. If you want to learn more about what he says, I will be posting some videos he has spoken in in my annotated bibliography. For a while, I haven't thought about what I learned from him and now remembering everything is making me frustrated again. Everything is revolved around money. People's health is going to waste because the companies want to make as much money as possible. They are making their foods addictive and unhealthy because they know that is what is gonna sell, but it is horrible. That is why obesity is such an issue. That and a combination of a lack of education and understanding of nutrition. Even if you attempt to eat healthy there is never escaping unhealthy food because even the fruits and vegetables available to us are sprayed with chemicals or have somethings wrong with them, and we are not even safe from that. It makes me feel so hopeless because it is like, what is even going to change? People are always gonna be greedy for money and have a lack of conscience or empathy for what they are doing to people. That is what so many industries do. They don't care what they are doing to the human population, as long as they are making money. My english teacher told my class how there was an article that came out talking about how the people in silicon valley will not let their kids have cellphones because they know how horrible they are. If that does not speak truths, just wow. I am going to do more research to see what people can do to be as healthy as possible considering the world we live in. With the resources available, what is possible and attainable? Thank you for listening to me rant. I have thought these things for a while, but never have an opportunity to put my thoughts out there. I am curious to see other people's perspectives, so please message me (link on my home page). Our conversation might even spark a new path in my project so please feel free.
Hello Everyone! Welcome to my first blog post! This week has been a crazy week because I am starting to see my project form and we are truly diving deep into them. I missed the first half of the week, so that was a little disorientating, but today (3/1) we presented on our Big 3 (under my research tab). I have so many ideas of what I want to do with my project. It is a little overwhelming because I want to have my path for my project a little more figured out. I am hoping to do a lot more research over the next week, specifically on sleep and screen usage because during my presentation today, I realized that is where most of my prior knowledge is lacking. Check into my Artifacts, under the Primary Research tab to see all the cool, new sources I find over the next week! As I get more inspired, these posts will become more related to my topic :)
